The collection includes publications by Miami Times, Miami Herald, Miami News, Broward Times, Tropical Dispatch, Nite Life, The Washingtonian, Model City News, Liberty News, and South Florida Times.
Brief description of processing procedure
The South Florida Newspaper Collection will be reprocessed to include current and additional publications. Each Newspaper will be accounted for on a spreadsheet by documenting the date, volume, edition and copies. Then placed in order by date and flattened if not already done. All publications are organized by series and individual newspapers will then be sleeved, put into acid free folders, itemized and boxed into acid free flat boxes. Some individual newspapers will be referenced in this collection due to them already being a part of another. Those collections include, The Gwen Walters Collection and The Sweeting Papers. The final step in this collection will be for each newspaper to be digitally scanned and uploaded.
