Abstract

Jackson's Toddle Inn was a primary school started in September 13, 1946 by Ida Belle Jackson-Mosley. Before founding the school Jackson graduated from South Carolina State University, and served in the Women's Army Corps in World War 2. She canvassed Hialeah and various parts of Miami-Dade to find her "Unlucky 13" first class. The school expanded and by 1953 had grown past 100 students. Jackson's Toddle Inn is also notable because they were the first school to provide a modern private bus transportation with 5 buses and a stationwagon.
